Resolution of Respect, published in The Banner of Love, June 2003

We have lost a dear brother and deacon at Corsicana, Texas.

Wednesday morning at 5:30, he passed from a peaceful sleep into eternal rest with his Lord.  Brother Clyde had been in and out of hospitals  and nursing facilities for the past three years.  He was four days short of his 84th birthday.  He had been diagnosed with Alzheimer.

Brother Clyde Richard's funeral was handled by the Cortley's Funeral Home with our pastor, Elder Tom Hart officiating.  Services were held in Cortley's Chapel at 2:00 Friday afternoon May 16, 2003.  Interment was in the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery, Corsicana.

Brother Clyde was born May 18, 1919 at Emhouse, Texas.  He and Sister Faye were married for 57 years.  He joined the Corsicana Church on December 30, 1956, then ordained to the office of deacon in 1962.  He was a member for 46 years and served as deacon for 40 years.  He was the church treasurer until 2000 when failing health forced him to  relinquish that responsibility.  He and Sister Faye have no children.

May has been a difficult month for us and especially Sister Faye.  Our spring communion was the first weekend in May.  Brother Clyde was in the hospital and this was the first communion that I'm aware of that he and Sister Face had not been together.  He was in the nursing  facility as our annual meeting was approaching, which he always anticipated.

He passed away on Wednesday, May 14, just four days before his 84th birthday, which would have been Saturday during our meeting.  The funeral was Friday, just the day before our meeting started.  Sister Faye's birthday was on Tuesday, May 20th.

We were all mindful of Sister Faye's thoughts.  This past year, she had a knee replacement and then a hip replacement on her right leg.  She was just exhausted and in a lot of pain, so please remember our dear sister in your thoughts and prayers.

We're thankful for all their friends and relatives.
