ORDINATION/ COMMUNION SERVICES IN JUNE

Acts 6:2-4. Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

The Lampasas Primitive Baptist church met in regular conference on March 3, 2002. We voted to ordain Brother Bill Jernigan to the office of Deacon on June 1, 2002 at 2:00 p.m.

We all consider him a very able man who loves The Lord and The Church.

We request your presence, and your ordained help to come and assist in the ordination service.

This is also the weekend of our annual Communion meeting, which starts on Saturday morning and concludes with Communion service on Sunday afternoon. Meals will be served all weekend.

We ask for your thoughts and prayers for these services. The Lord has been so good to us! May God richly bless all of you!

In Christian Love

Elder Howard Jernigan, Pastor

SPECIAL MEETING LABOR DAY WEEKEND

After much prayer and discussion, the Rule Primitive Baptist Church voted to host a special meeting on Labor Day weekend, beginning Friday night, August 30th, Saturday, August 31st and Sunday, September 1st. This is a large undertaking for us as we are very small in number, but we do feel it is pleasing to the Lord and that He will be with us and bless us and guide us in this endeavor.

We haven't held a meeting such as this for a few years and we feel the time is right and we are very much looking forward to it. We pray for His Grace-Love and Sweet Fellowship.

We have a few electrical hook-ups and what few homes we have will be open. The motel in Rule is no longer open, but there are nice motels in Aspermont, Haskell, and Stamford, all within 20 miles of Rule. Meals will be served at the church building, located on the corner of 8th St. and Robins Ave.

BETHEL CAMP MEETING

3rd WEEKEND IN JULY - 2002

It is Bethel P.B.C.'s honor to host the Camp Meeting this coming July of 2002.

The meeting will start on Thurs. P.M. July 18th, before the 3rd Sunday in July. Services will continue all day Friday, July 19th, and all day Saturday, July20th and conclude on 3rd Sunday, July 21st.

All meals will be served in the church dining room building. Bethel Church is very happy in the Lord to be hosting this meeting again. We rotate this meeting each years between Bethel, Stratton and Doss Churches.

There is much parking space available. Also many "hook-up's" for campers and R.V.'s at the church. Our homes will be open for you also. We pray we are ready.

We also pray the Holy Spirit will make Himself felt with His Presence in a most manifest way. May the Lord have all the glory !

We invite all to come!

If you love the Truth of Sovereign Grace, then mark your calendar, and come praying. All who love the good old songs of Zion - preaching of Jesus Christ's finished work on Calvary's Cross of Redemption - the sweet fellowship of the Old Line Primitive Baptist, then come! Bring your camper, RV or Tent, but come!

Again, our homes will also be open to you. There are two nice motels in Lockhart, Tx. Lockhart Inn, 512 398-5201; and The Plum Creek Inn - 512 398-4911. Also there are camping facilities and RV hook-ups in the State Park on TX-20 just at the SW edge of Lockhart.

Bethel P.B.C. constituted on Sat. June 19th, 1852 is located just 1/2 mile West of McMahan, Tx. This is our 150th Anniversary.

McMahan is about 10 miles East of Lockhart, which is about 30 miles South of Austin, Tx. on US-183. From Lockhart, take highway TX-20 East for 5 miles to intersect FM-713 for 5 more miles, turn South and the church house is easily found on a little hilltop on the south side of the road. Jeffrey Cemetery is immediately behind the church.

Many years ago when this meeting was initiated, it was truly a "camp meeting." Folks came in wagons, buggies, hacks, on horses, walked or in Model T's and Model A's. They brought their own bed-rolls, camping gear, grub-boxes and cooked over the camp-fire. Today it is still called the "Camp Meeting," but mostly it is all controlled now by the thermostat.

Again, mark your calendar and come to our Camp Meeting !

Kindly, Hulan Bass, Pastor
