BROTHER ALBERT NORMAN GOOLSBY

Albert Norman Goolsby, 81, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at his residence. Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Brook View Funeral Home with Elder Harold Horn officiating. Burial followed at Waco Memorial Park.

Albert Goolsby was born May 5, 1920 in Gilford Co., N.C. He served his country during WWII in the Army Air Forces. He was a printing supervisor for Gulf State Paper for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Goolsby; son, Kenneth Norman Goolsby, and son-in-law, Jack Wilkinson, Jr.

Survivors include daughters, Kathleen Wilkinson and Shirley King and husband, Harlan; sons, Perry Goolsby and wife, Joyce and David Goolsby; sisters, Hilda Moore and Notra Boyles; brother, Wilson W. Goolsby; grandchildren, Steven King, Beverly Culp, Dennise Gonzalez, Craig Wilkinson, Curtis Goolsby, Stephanie Goolsby, Michelle Gloor and Wendy Goolsby; and 13 great-grandchildren.

His grandsons served as pallbearers.

Our brother in Christ joined the Waco Primitive Baptist Church Dec. 5, 1999, and he was baptized Dec. 12 1999. The answer to a good conscience toward God and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ was proved in his baptism and subsequent faithful attendance in the church services. Although hindered by health problems, Brother Goolsby successfully challenged the hardships of driving himself to church on Sundays. His quiet expressions of love for the doctrine of God's Sovereign Grace was evidence that he enjoyed serving as a soldier of the cross.

The memorial that he left for us that he was "Going Home" to be with the Lord. Although his body now sleeps in death, his spirit lives on in Heaven's pure world where there are no more handicaps and sufferings. He looks upon the very face of the eternal God awaiting the resurrection morning when death is swallowed up in victory and his sleeping body shall be raised a spiritual body and joined with his spirit to ever be with the Lord in Heaven.

Brother Goolsby understood this free grace, given the children of King Jesus and he feared not the death of the body. Brother Goolsby left for us his good name and an example to be followers of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. We miss him, but we shall see him again in Heaven.

Written in behalf of members of Waco Primitive Baptist Church.

SISTER ROWENA ELIZABETH KELLEY DUNN

On September 24, 2001, Sister Rowena Dunn of the Tucson Primitive Baptist Church of Jesus Christ passed from this mortal life at the age of 95. Sister Dunn was married to deacon, John Dunn for 61 years until his passing in 1985 and was a member of the Tucson Church for 40 years. She will be lovingly remembered by those of us in the Tucson Church, who remember her as the model of a deacon's wife and the embodiment of Christian duty and love.

Sister Rowena Elizabeth Kelley Dunn was born, August 17, 1906 to Luther James Kelley and Serilda Ball Kelley in Greene County Tenn. She joined the Caney Creek Primitive Baptist Church at an early age and married John Dunn in 1924. They soon moved to Kingsport where she was employed at Bordens Mills. During World War II they moved to Delaware, where Sister Rowena was employed as a welder in a shipyard.

Brother John and Sister Rowena moved to Tucson in 1953 and joined with the Tucson Church in December of 1962. Surely angels walked among us unawares during their 40 years with the Tucson Church. Sister Dunn will be remembered for her sweetness, caring, love, dependability and outstanding cooking. She would always be found in the kitchen or the church house taking care of the facilities or preparing and cleaning after meals with a cheerful smile and a hug for the little ones.

She moved from Tucson in 1993 to Harriman, Texas to be with her son and daughter-in-law. She resided in Kingsport, Tenn. for the last seven years living at Stedman Hills and the Wexford House.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a brother, Earnest Kelley; two sisters, Noralee Brown and Annie Jones; and a grandson, Dennis Dunn. She is survived by her two sons, Carl Dunn and wife, Pearl of Kingsport, Tenn. and Dwain Dunn and wife, Margie of Harriman, Tenn.

She will be in the hearts and memories of five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-grandson, a sister, Hazel Wilkerson, her sister-in-law, Beryl Doty, a host of nieces and nephews and a great many friends.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but our loss is Heaven's gain. We are sure she could say, as did the Apostle Paul...

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me on that day; and not me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing."

We of the Tucson Church find comfort in our precious memories of Sister Dunn and rejoice in the Hope of God's Promise that one day we will be joining Him in eternal rest.

In Christian fellowship and love,

Elder Tim Janes, Pastor

Brother Robert Wortman,

Clerk

Tucson Primitive Baptist

of Jesus Christ.
