BROTHER WOODROW COOK

We, the members of the Marlow Primitive Baptist Church, recently lost Brother Thomas Woodrow Wilson Cook. Brother Woodrow died at the age of 86 on March 21, 2000.

Brother Woodrow had been a member of our church since 1972. During that time he was a hard-working devoted deacon. He eagerly awaited every Church day, and was always there until ill-health in these last few years kept him from attending regularly.

Brother Woodrow was born Oct. 4, 1913 in Wapanucka to Greenberry and Amanda Irwin Cook. He married Ida Lou Nobles on Dec. 24, 1936 in Duncan. He was a longtime resident of the Marlow area and worked as a machinist for Halliburton for 28 years.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Lou, of Duncan; four sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd Ray and Jean Cook of Duncan, Aulton W. "Pete" and Anne Cook of Marlow, Thomas G.B. and Betty Cook of Dallas, and Bobby Joe and Wanda of Marlow; a daughter and son-in-law, Fern and Randy Nunley of Comanche; two brothers, Clem Cook of Mountain Park and Jeff Cook of Amherst, TX; 38 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five grandchildren, three brothers; and two sisters.

Graveside services were held March 23 at Hope Cemetery with Brother Forest Cook and Elder H. O. Ballard officiating.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Inez, one son, Carlos Gotcher and one grandson, Kenneth Key. He is survived by one son, James Gotcher of Joshua, TX, and one daughter, Carol Key of Burleson, TX, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Pafford of Abilene, TX, and Laurene Nowlin of Arlington, TX and a number of relatives.
