BROTHER DAVID LEE "MAC" McDONALD
The Tucson Church mourns the passing of our brother, "Mac" McDonald on May 31, 1999. Brother Mac had a full and varied life. He was born November 1, 1929 in Shelton, Washington and spent his youth on the Yakima reservation busting broncos. He was an adopted son of the Nez Perce tribe before entering the Navy at age 15.
He was Chief Petty Officer in the Nave SEALS program for 24 years and was decorated for his valiant service in World war II. He worked at the Florence prison as a guard for an additional 19 years.
He was a faithful husband, father and grandfather in his life here on earth. He is survived by his wife, Betty and two children and two grandchildren. He joined the Church late in his life, but was always a member in his heart. He was a quiet and humble man, and he is sorely missed by us, his church family.
We are thankful he is at peace in the arms of Grace.

The Tucson Primitive Baptist Church mourns the passing of our dear brother in Christ, Glen Wortman. He was blessed to pass peacefully from this life on his 77th birthday surrounded by his family and church friends.
Brother Glen was born in Heber Springs, Arkansas as one of 13 children to Charles Oliver and Ollie Wortman. He grew up in Oklahoma and was stationed in
England in the Navy during World War II.
Brother Glen loved his Lord and his family and his beloved Church family. he served the Ada and Tucson Churches faithfully and in love as deacon for 45 years.
He was a true father to us all in the church. He was committed to peace in the church and among churches. He was humble and generous with his worldly possessions as well as his love and goodwill for his neighbors. He was known for his forgiving nature and his reluctance to act too hastily in church business.
The Church children will miss their giant candy cane at Christmas and their birthday dollars from "Grandpa Glen." We will miss his thoughtfulness and loving counsel. He was at peace with his Lord in his lifetime on this earth and is now in the eternal hands of the loving God he so fervently believed in during his life. The light of our Lord's love shown brightly through our brother in his life, and he is greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Mt. Paran Primitive Baptist Church, Paris, TX, bids farewell to Brother Jesse Osborn. At the age of 95, this dear brother was still an active deacon, drove his car until the early part of 1999, and was a Volunteer Patient Escort at Paris, TX hospital,
working toward 7000 hours of volunteer time. Gov. Mark White had presented him with a certificate expressing appreciation for exceptional and distinguished volunteer service. Brother Jesse commented upon the receipt of this award, "The good Lord told us to help others and I just try to do what I can. It's impossible to list all the blessings that come from helping others."
Brother Jesse became ill in November 1999, and waited patiently on the Lord to call him to his heavenly home on December 16, 1999. His funeral service was held December 18, 1999 in Paris, Texas, with his pastor, Elder Harley Stripland officiating. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, TX.
He was born on April 11, 1904. His first marriage ended November 8, 1965, at the death of his wife, Willie Lorraine. He married Margaret Foster on February 5, 1967, in Houston, Texas. She survives him at the age of 93. Also surviving is one son, Eldon Osborn of Houston, TX, three grandchildren and Margaret's son and daughter, Bill Foster and Nancy Foster.
A 45 year member of the Local 450 Houston Operating Engineers, he helped build the first 73 ships built at the Houston Ship Yard.
Brother Jesse joined the Houston Primitive Baptist Church in 1937. In 1973 he and Margaret moved to Paris, Texas, where he had lived early in his life. He was a member of the Blossom, TX church until 1985, when he moved his membership to Mt. Paran Primitive Baptist Church in Paris, TX.
Brother Jesse often told us that words could not describe how good the Lord had been to him, and he was always ready to defend the cause of Christ.

We are saddened by the loss of another church member, Brother Bernice Foster. He passed away on Sept. 14, 1999. He was born in 1911 in the Atwell community. He married Martha Edna Hutchins in 1935. They had been married for 61 years when she preceded him in death in 1996. Sister Edna was born on Feb. 9, 1917. Brother Bernice and Sister Edna joined the Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church in 1944. Both were baptized by Brother Bernice's father, Elder John C. Foster, who was pastor of the church for many years. The Fosters were faithful and devoted church members. Their failing health had prevented them from coming to church the last few years of their lives. We have missed them very much.
Survivors include five daughters; Ilene Smith, Mamie Webb , Martha Leverite, Jessie Ruben, Vickie Cobb; one son, Bugs Foster; a sister, Lavern Scott; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.

On November 15, 1999 Brother Arthur Yarbrough left his earthly home. He is, as his loving family stated, in a better place now. It is a tribute to the way Brother Arthur lived his life that even in their sorrow his family is comforted knowing that he is with his Lord and Savior.
Brother Arthur was born Dec. 18, 1926 in Stonewall County. He was 72 years of age. Officiating at the service were Elder Tommie Hart and Elder Vance Rodgers. He was laid to rest in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Brother Arthur and Sister Margarete were married on May 27, 1948. They had three children; Jerry Yarbrough of Ft. Davis, Patty Waid of Austin and Nancy Swan of Sweetwater. He had worked as a mechanic and was also a master carpenter. He had lived at Lake Brownwood the last 14 years.
Brother Arthur joined the Primitive Baptist Church at Munday 52 years ago. He had served as a deacon in the Primitive Baptist Church for a number of years. He was a devoted church member who was willing to serve his church in any capacity that was needed. When it came to serving the church there was no job too big or too small, whether it be taking part in the service or maintaining the building and grounds. He was a lay minister. Brother Arthur's knowledge and skills as a carpenter have been invaluable through the years.
Brother Arthur is survived by his wife and devoted companion, Sister Margarite, his three children, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
We, the members of the Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church are saddened by the loss of our dear brother. He will be greatly missed by us, as well as the many area churches where Brother Arthur had preached and visited.
