MYRTLE CREAMER

Sister Myrtle joined the Tennessee Valley Primitive Baptist Church in May of 1928.  She moved her letter to the Muleshoe, TX Primitive Baptist Church in October of 1958.  She was a good and faithful member who attended services as long as her health permitted her to.  Sister Myrtle loved the doctrine of grace and loved to sing songs of praise unto her Lord.  She was not able to attend church services the last few years of her life, but her pastor and other church members loved to visit her and sing with her in her room.  She always watched the clock on Sunday and think about what we at church were doing, and she was praying for the meetings.  She will be greatly missed by all here at the church at Muleshoe.

We bow in humble submission to the will of our Heavenly Father who called Sister Myrtle home to be with Him.  Her place in this church is left vacant, but we have sweet memories of her and we have a blessed assurance that she is in a world without sorrow, pain or death.  Her body was laid to rest in the Muleshoe cemetery to await the resurrection morning when the Lord shall return to gather his children home and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Sister Myrtle Creamer was born Nov. 15, 1907 in Cottle County, Texas and passed away March 1, 1999 at the age of 91 years, three months and 14 days.  She married Willie F. [Buck] Creamer Nov. 6, 1927 in Cottle County, Texas.  Brother Creamer passed away Jan. 11, 1981.  To this union was born eleven children. Two preceded her in death; they are Tommy Mart, who died in infancy in 1928, and a daughter, Oleta Jacobson, who passed away in 1995.  Surviving children are, four sons, James, Forest, Charles Henry and Travis Creamer; also five daughters; Sue Kemp, Phyllis Silvia, Carolyn Herrington, Monnie McBride, and Jan Schneider.  She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

By order of the Muleshoe Primitive Baptist Church, Muleshoe, Texas.

Resolution of Respect

In memory of Elder J. P. Dale, Jr.

"Am I a Soldier of the Cross, a Follower of the Lamb?"

A true soldier has fallen from the ranks of God's ministry here on earth in the passing of Elder J. P. Dale, Jr. on February 1999.

The apostle Paul stated on one occasion, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." We believe this would accurately describe Elder Dale's 65 years in the service of God.  He was a good soldier, constantly on guard in caring for the little flocks who depended upon his guidance and support.  He was a true believer in church discipline and he expressed great concerns about the welfare of the church.  Elder Dale took to himself the "whole armour of God"  [Ephesians 6:13-17] and wore it faithfully throughout his ministry.  Our church is much saddened by his passing, but rejoice that he is now in the very presence of Jesus whom he loved and preached about so often.

Funeral services for Elder Dale were held on Monday, Feb.15, 1999 in New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, Texas, with Elders W.R. Daniels, Jr. of Luling, Texas and Richard Halbgewachs of Austin, Texas, officiating. A large assembly of his loved ones, friends, neighbors and yoke servants in the ministry gathered to pay their last respects. Both presiding ministers spoke beautiful words of comfort to the family and others who attended. His body was laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery to await the Resurrection. Pall-bearers were as follows: Gordon Baethge, Elton Faught, Jim Faught, Tom Caraway, Dr.Courtney Owen, and Dr. Hunt Whitehead.

Elder J. P. Dale, Jr. was born May 25, 1912 in McKinney, Texas, the son of James Preston and Emma Gotcher Dale.  He married Lela Baethge in Dallas, Texas on October 1, 1959, and she survives.  Also surviving are, one daughter, Lynn and her husband Tim Miller of Mesa, Arizona; three grandsons, Joey Watkins, Jimmy and Johnny Gifford; two grand daughters, Jackie Niemi and Gina Bradley; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, W. R., Joshua, and Gotcher, and one sister, Elizabeth, [Mrs. J. L. Cruse].

Elder Dale united with the Primitive Baptist Church in Tioga, Texas, in 1923 at the age of eleven years. He was baptized by the late Elder Henry Ball.  He was ordained to the ministry on July 15, 1934 at the age of 22 years at Lone Star Primitive Baptist Church in Tioga, Texas.  He preached the gospel in some 30 states and assisted in the constitution of five churches in Texas and one in Mew Mexico.  He pastored churches in Oglesby, Quitman, Maud, Warren, Fort Neches, Houston, Fort Worth, Dallas, Corpus Christi, Doss, San Antonio, and Fredericksburg, traveling many miles from his home to some of the churches.

Elder Dale was also a Doctor of Chiropractic, graduating from the Texas Chiropractic College.  He had patients come from near and far and delighted in relieving their pain and suffering.  He, himself very rarely missed a church service due to illness.

The church here in Fredericksburg is deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved pastor, but trusting in God to fill our needs in the coming days.

This Resolution of Respect in memory of Elder J.P. Dale, Jr. was authorized by vote while in conference on February 21, 1999, with one copy presented to the family, one copy for church records, and copies sent to various publications for printing.
